At Ditching the 9-5, we’re on the hunt for talented, capable, and organized team members ready to bring their unique flair to our diverse client base. If you’re searching for a flexible work-from-home position with competitive pay and a team of like-minded go-getters to collaborate with, you’ve found your spot.

Over the past four years, we’ve made some serious strides, and now we’re gearing up to possibly double our team to keep up with growing demands. Our eclectic client portfolio means no two days are the same. One day, you might be assisting an architecture firm in Louisiana, and the next, you could be helping a princess company in Hawaii—it’s all in a day’s work here!

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to excel in what you do best—whether that’s administrative assistance, digital organization, web design, graphics, coding, marketing strategy, social media, or something else entirely (we listed a bunch of services below that you're welcome to offer to our clients). Oh, and if you've read this far, you're already on the right track, so be sure to blurt out your favorite food in all caps when you fill out your application so we know to fast-track your form.

Our hiring process

Let’s be real—our hiring process is a bit of a marathon, not a sprint. With over 400 applicants in our last round alone, finding the perfect fit is like searching for a diamond in a sea of glitter. So, how do we discover the right folks amidst all the sparkle?

It all kicks off with your application. We can’t stress this enough: read each question carefully and answer honestly. We’re looking for the real you, so take your time and double-check for any sneaky typos. We notice when applicants skip questions or miss the mark, so put your best foot forward!

Once we’ve sifted through all the applications, we’ll send out interview invitations to those who truly caught our eye. These standout applications aren’t just completed correctly—they’re bursting with personality! So, don’t be shy; let your true self shine through. We want to know the real you, not just the version you think we’re looking for.

Your interview will be a chat with our CEO, Rayla Elkey, and her Executive Assistant, Monica Sadler. Together, they’ll dive deeper into your experience, goals, and what makes you tick. This is your chance to show us why you’re excited to join our team.

Next up is the skills assessment for those who nail the interview. Don’t worry, this isn’t an exam; it’s just our way of figuring out what you already know and where you might need a little extra support. This helps us tailor our training to suit you perfectly—no unnecessary lessons, just what you need to succeed.

Finally, we’ll take a holistic look at everything—your application, interview notes, and skills assessment—to make our final decision.

If you’re selected, you’ll embark on a 4-week intensive training program designed to sharpen your skills and get you up to speed. During this time, you’ll tackle a variety of internal tasks—no client pressure, just a chance to shine! You might create content for our company profile, pen blog posts, or explore our CRM system. Plus, you’ll have full control over your schedule and hours. And yes, you’ll be paid $15/hour for your hard work. This is your playground to learn our ropes, make mistakes, and grow without the worry of client expectations.

Throughout the program, you'll receive personal mentorship from our CEO, Rayla Elkey, and have the chance to shadow other team members during our Thursday digital workdays.

After the 30-day paid internship, if we’re convinced you’re a fantastic fit, we’ll offer you a fully paid position with our team. As a proud graduate of our program, you’ll be our top pick for new clients, and once you’re assigned a client, your pay will rise to $24/hour.
